Why We Do It

Every year, the Relay For Life movement raises more than $400 million. The American Cancer Society puts these donations to work, investing in groundbreaking research in every type of cancer and providing free information and services to cancer patients and their caregivers. We're fighting for every birthday threatened by every cancer, in our community and everyone else's.

Personally, we raise money for both the friends and family that we know who have survived and succumbed to cancer - but also for the future of the disease. Joe, Mike, myself, and my husband Jim (plus all of our great friends!) are all young and starting families soon. The last thing we want to tell our kids or hear from our kids doctor's are "You Have Cancer..."

We also do it for our clients of Sauers Tree & Landscape Service, Inc. Several of our clients have told us that they are survivors and they appreciate the work that we do - some even attend this bowling event! The most rewarding though; is when a client trusts in us to help them. We have received a number of phone calls from clients asking us who they should contact in their time of need and confusion during their or their family's struggle with cancer. I am always happy to take those phone calls and direct them to the American Cancer Society 800#. 100% of the time when I followup with those who have called and needed up - they have thanked me over and over again for the help that ACS can provide them with.
